i use the Pakistani flag, or Nigeria, or Saudi Arabia for color field contrast. green as you also migh notice, at CTS is a very rare flag color and stands in marked contrast to all the others!

i hate to repeat this, but i am very highly trained in the visual arts, principly as a licensed but now non-practicing architect

(
too damn much work for too little money IN a society that does NOT value the craft, of, sorry to say little value [*];

that is to say, social workers dont make much money but it is a very valuable service to mankind and god, and although not financially rewarding, so important to help the sticky issues of addiction, marital issues, codependence, child development, adolescent stewardship for parentless young adults, etc;

[*] what do 'we' in the industrialized world value? technology, media, plug in components such as appliances, and consummer electronics, home decor, all the peripherals in a building, but not THE building, its impact, or pedegree, despite what everyone else says
)

now, having said all that, it all started last year when chessDog, who latter became a real friend, was making repeated rude comments to me at CTS, and i started to make flags of edgy, aggressive, third world countries, as if to say, as if to send the message:

"dont even think of fu_king with my sh_t!". but latter, we got to know each other, and took a long time, exchanging personal notes, personal or family photos, etc.

i dont mean to be insenstive by using Pakistan. BTW, i really prefer Nigeria, as it is green and no frills.

in time, i realized that most of the flags were red, and green as you might now is complimentary to red. color has three components:

'hue' or color (orange, yellow, purple, etc or the 'six "primary" colors'),

'value' or shade (light, medium, or dark or how much white or black is in an image or light field),

and 'cromatic value' or brightness (saturation).

if you notice, some of my selected photos exist for now other reason that things like:

message, shape, saturation, composition or arrangment, or some comination.

warmly, dk
